HER: I just got a bill in the mail from you people, but I don't remember signing up for any Comcast Cable Television.

ME: I'm sorry, Ma'am, let take a look here... looks like you've been a customer with us since May of 2003. Do you have cable television?

HER: Well yes I do, but I thought I had just the regular old cable television...

ME: That's US! That's COMCAST! We give you the cable television!

HER: Are you sure? I don't remember ever signing up for Comcast, and I've never gotten a bill from you before today.

ME: Actually, I see that you HAVE been receiving your bills, and you've been paying every month! Your last payment was on July 18th!

HER: Are you sure? Because I just got a bill in the mail from you people, but I don't remember signing up for any Comcast Cable Television.

(Now loop this conversation three more times)

HER: Well I'm sorry, but things have been a little hazy since I hit my head... so I guess if you say I have Comcast Cable, I must have comcast Cable. But are you sure? Because I don't remember ever signing up for Comcast, and I've never gotten a bill from you before today...

Didn't you want to call her family or friends or somebody to tell them that their loved one is goin' wang-dang-doodle? Or did you have any urge to goof her up more... I mean, she wouldn't remember anything you said anyways!

My older sister (now 62) went thru a period of really worrying that she was getting Alzheimers. One time she talked on and on about how she's forgetting this and that and the other thing. On and on. When she finally wound down, my wicked twin told her a bit fat lie: "Uh, Karen? You told me all this the other night. Don't you remember?" She got a horrified look on her face and burst into tears. It was hilarious. (Evil snicker.)
