Sep. 10th, 2006 07:15 pmIt's here again; my unrequested, unexplainable DEPRESSION. Mind-numbing, crippling, get-in-bed-and-stay-there DEPRESSION. It started very unexpectedly late last night and festered all morning long (despite the best efforts of
khristle) and is now full-on pissy-mood DEPRESSION.
I tracked it back and I think I know what it is that triggered it. I think it's
khristle's new computer I got her for our Anniversarry. Not only did CompUSA offer a brand-new better verion of it for CHEAPER a mere 10-minutes after I placed the order, but the refurbished computer we got crom Outpost.com seems to be broken beyond my technical ability; no matter what we do, we can't get it to display the color red.
We've spent a good chunk of the past several days updating drivers and swapping out monitors, no luck. But what's REALLY got me pisse doff about this is that WE PAID $300 AFOR THIS COMPUTER!!! IT SHOULD WORK AS ADVERTISED RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, SHOULD IT NOT?!?!?!
Refurbished so it's out of warranty and Compaq won't support it. Outpost support won't be available till Monday morning, at which time they'll say all I need to do is ship it back to them (another $50), wait a month and then they'll ship it back to me (at my cost, another $50) to see if they fixed it or not. Either that, or they'll say that since it was a "Weekly Special" and therefore not covered by any type of return policy.
Either way, I'm PISSED.
