If you have Comcast Digital Cable and you have the On-Demand, do yourself a favor:

Go in to the "Cutting Edge" category"

In there, go to the "Something Weird" category.

From there clik on "Trailer Trash"

And finally, select "Fractured Fairytales".

You will be rewarded with about 15 minutes of the most bizzare movie trailers from the 1960's that you've ever sen, all compliments of one K. Gordon Murray. This man... I... i don't know if he is to be praised or to be burried. He was the KING of cheap, psychadelic Kiddie Matinee movies such as Little Red Riding Hood And The Monsters. Now just let that title sink in for a few moments, okay? Little Red Riding Hood And THE MONSTERS. Imagine everything that you think a movie like that could possily be... got it in your head? Good. Now take your image of this film, produce it for about $50 in Mexico, then (poorly) dub it in English.

Yes, it's THAT GOOD!

I'm kinda wishin' that we had digital cable. We only have basic cable 'til channel 30 (plus the few oddball channels above that, like HGTV and CBUT). We did that intentionally to save a few bux and because I don't want to be parked in front of the TV, but damn. A few of our friends have digital cable and I always end up taking over the TV when I'm at their house. You mean I can find Roseanne on at almost any time of day?? Sweet!

I guess I'm saying this so you as the Comcast employee and digital cable connoisseur can talk me into getting digital cable? hehe. I just need a little push...

Can I talk ya in to it?!?!? Well OF COURSE I CAN!!!!

First of all, you have to realize that The FCC isn't going to let you keep your non-digital cale for very long. By 2008 we're supposed to have 100% Digital Conversion or we start geting fines from The Government. So one way or another, you're GONNA get a cable box of some sort.

I know this sounds corny, but "If You Act Now, Here's What You'll Get!" I can *mail you* a Cable Box for free (just hook it up to your TV nd call us to activate it, no need to wait around for a technician), and you'll get all the channels from 2 to 100 (about 75 channels in all?) plus about 3/4 of the On-Demand content for $33 a month. That $33 a month lasts for your first 6 months of Digital service, then it goes up to $45 a month unless you choose to downgrade back to the "package" that you have right now.

Or if you want ALL the On-Demand Content and all the channels that aren't a Movie Channel (like HBO, Showtime, etc... you'd be geting somewhere around 150 channels), you can pay $48 a monh for your first 6 months and $60 a month after that.

Any further questions?

Right now I have the absolutely most basic cable, like 20 channels, and a cable box which gives me on-demand. I get this for around $16/month

And you were able to get to the Something Weird Category? COOL! They must have changed things recently! I wonder if you ge access to ALL the OnDemand with Basic Service now... I'll have to check on that whn I go back to work!

I get all the on-demand. That's why I dropped everything. Finances make you do things you'd rather not. I miss having SciFi, the Food Network, and Travel channel constantly but you do what you need to do. So I get the occasional show rather than everything I'd like.

They just changed it when I told them I wanted to drop everything except Basic. They told me I could keep the box and the ALL the on-demand services. Couldn't pass up the deal.

by the way, i just got a new tv, and the tv came with a sticker attached that says that in february 2009 that not only does comcast have to have all digital, but all everyone, off air and everything will be digital only. It says something like "Warning, this tv will be utterly useless as of February 2009 due to new FCC regulations which will require digital signal of all off air, cable and satellite services. You will need to use a digital decoder box to see anything after this happens. You have been warned. Ha-ha-ha sucker!"

I hadn't realized that.

I already own a few K. Gordon Murray films on DVD and I didn't even know it! Seems you can find most of his stuff at The Dolar Store these days :)
