[livejournal.com profile] khristle and I bought a few cases odf these NCREDIBLY good, INCREDIBLY cheap Frozen "Angus Beef" Hamburger Patties last month and we've been eating them on an almost daily basis ever since. They're 1/3-Pound patties and best of all they DON'T SHRINK. Like, you know how you usually start out with an uncooked patty that looks the sam size as your hamburger bun, but the time you're done cooking what you have is a lil' hockey puck in the middle of an OCEAN of bun looking something like the curger from the old "WHERE'S THE BEEF" commercials? These burgers are different. Doesn't matter if I fry them, grill them on the George Foreman, or BQ them outside on the grill. These burgers STAY ORIGINAL SIZE! I've just been infanitely impressed with them!

That is, till last night.

Thought I'd impress [livejournal.com profile] teegin and bring a few over for him to grill-up since he *is* The Master Beebeecuer of The Ninjas. He slapped them on to his grill and they almost INSTANTLY started falling apart and spewing so much grease in to the flams that nearby religious zealots thought it was The Rapture! 3 of the burgers came out of it "okay", 2 were heavilly shrunk, and a third one had turned itself in to a "Loose Meat" burger.

I have no idea what happened!

So anywho, we only got around to playing one match of The Spoils (I won only due to some poor math on behlaf of The Canadian Team), watched an episode of "Ice Truckers" from The Discovery Channel and the first two episodes of "Trailer Park Boys". Oh LORD I need to watch more of that series! It seems to be a series all about [livejournal.com profile] khristle's brothers!

Yes the mysterious Horseamajig, all elitism, deck does require massive quantities of math or several baseball umpire's counter clicker things. Thank goodness for many many dice to keep track of the horseamajig stats.

Maybe his grill was too hot? Sometimes that can be the key...

That's a possibility. We discussed several different reasons it COULD be disintigrating the burgers, including too high of heat, too frequent of flipping, wider openings between bars of the grill, using thawed burger as opposed to frozen... looks like we may never know :(

With those burgers starting with thawed is definitely a problem. I've used cheaper/nastier versions of them before, & starting frozen was always the way to go.
