In a nut-shell, it's Astro Boy. You'll very soon be able to buy a "lifelike robotic companions" that looks like an Anime character. I'm... i can't...
I don't remember how many sci-fi novels I've read based on this concept. And now? Now I am living in The Future.
Where's my damned Jet pants???

Date: 2007-09-14 11:57 am (UTC)Does no one else find a problem with creating an Astro-boy type robot whose brain is actually software whose initial purpose was to plan, create & execute the most realistic & violent battles possible? And on top of that, the computer can just communicate wirelessly with the body? Why not just create a little army of the darned things while you're at it? Then the program has as many bodies as it wants or needs for it's nefarious plans.
Am I the only one who sees this as the beginning of Skynet?
