Tune in to your local CBC affiliate for some HOT CURLING ACTION right now! Looks like it's scheduled for the next two hours as far as I can tell!

Curling makes me so happy :) Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] teegin I now have ayt least *some* idea of how the game ids played and enjoy it all the more. Still, I can't help but feel that the experience would be greatly enhanced by copious amounts of Molson beer (Molson stands for Medicine Of Life; Satisfy Our Needs).

I also love that it's THE SEMI-FINALS, which is (by my understanding) like the few weeks right before The Final Four in Basketball... yet the arena is so empty you can hear the players talking to each other. They try to avoid showing "The Crowd", but when they do you can see that maybe 30% of the seats sold. Know why that is? Canadians aren't STUPID. They can either pay lots of money and trudge through the snow to go pay too much money for their beer, or they can stay home for free and watch it on CBC!

Anywho, CBC... Channel 99 for those of us in the Seattle area on Comcast Cable, channel 2 for folks further North and/or watching on an antenna.

Curling is a lot more fun once you understand the rules. Of course it has been since the last Winter Olympics that I watched curling so I may have to refresh myself on them.

Just to let you know since I'm fairly confident I'm the only one posting in here who has actually curled before. In Canada most people view curling as for old people and losers but it is fun. The new generations don't see it as anything but a game there grandparents like. If we are not careful the sport could one day become extinct. Lets hope not. Oh and your right about the Molson but then again almost everything is more fun with Molson. It's kind of like BBQ everything tastes better BBQ'd. BBQ, drinking Molson and watching curling all at the same time is the greatest especially when you are standing knee deep in snow while doing it. Now thats Canuckian.
