On 60 minutes last night... interviews with both McCain and Obama... McCain ended his interview by taking out the dog tags of a dead soldier and saying that THIS is why he should be the next President.

That was absolutely tasteless.

I know. i can't believe that's not all over the news today! If Obama had gone out there and held up the dogtags of a dead soldier and said "THIS is why we can't have another 4 years of Republican rule", the McCain camp would have been all over it!

I'm sorry but if any candidate has the right to display dog tags, it's McCain. I'm not a fangirl but the man went through shit that 99.9% of the population can't even fathom! He does deserve some frakkin gratitude for fighting for this country whether or not you like him or want to vote for him. If a hero like McCain took tags from someone I was related to, I'd be honored by the recognition, not appalled at his ego. Have some perspective, please. Clinton was fucking burning flags! American flags!

Yeah, but NO CANDIDATE has the right to use a dead soldier as a prop for political gain! ESPECIALLY somebody who's been through all the shit that McCain's been through! Have a little dignity for Gods sakes!

I think the main reason i was so upset by it is because I *AM* a McCain Fanboy. Or at least I was, back when he was the "Maverick" that they keep talking about. But the last several years of McCain have left me feeling absolutely hopeless for him and his policies... he's done a 180 on all the things I admired him for (his stance on Religion in Government chief amongst these) and it hurts me every time I see him do something like this that is so much the opposite of the dignity and...

Cripes, it's making me tear-up just thinking about it! Let's just leave it at this; in 2004 I would have gladly voted for John McCain over Al Gore.

Also, If it had been Obama doing the Dead Soldier Prop, I would be equally as disgusted.
