This week, our Game Night will be forever changed as we know it.

First of all, no D&D on Friday Night because dude that's WATCHMEN NIGHT!!! I'll be hitting the Alderwood Regal Stadium 7 (that's the one across the street from the Mall with the big comfy seats, not the one in the Mall parking lot with the "But uf we sacrifice comfort we can cram another 40 people in this room" seating) for the 4pm showing and won't be getting home till some time after 8. 'Cuz that's how you roll when you go see a 3-hour Super Hero EPIC, dawg!

So our next Gaming Night will be on SATURDAY, MARCH 14th. You heard me... Saturday. This will make it MUCH easier for people to get here without having to fight Friday Night Rush-Hour Traffic, and also opens things up nicely for if we want to do any BBQing over the course of the Summer. I'm flexible on start-time, but figure that any time after 2pm on Saturday.

Also, in the interest of giving all y'all a bit of your life back, I suggest that we make this a MONTHLY affair instead of Bi-Weekly.

SO! IN SUMMATION! The Knights of The Sacred Slinky shall from here on forward meet on the SECOND SATURDAY of EACH MONTH for feast, merriment and lusty bold adventure. It'll be a Pot-Luck Affair. Many games will be played, not the least of which will be a rousing series of "Done-In-One" interlinked adventures. Other games to be considered will be Munchkin, Zombies, Robo Rally and whatever else we can get our grubby little hands on.

Sound good? Any thoughts on the matter? Opinions? Suggestions?

Oh, also? If you can read this, you're invited :)

AWESOME!!! Treats that were brought along last time included a Veggie Tray, Booze-Infused cupcakes, Sparkling Apple Juice... and I had a big pot of Chilli and all the tap water anyone could want available :)

SO GLAD YOU GUYS CAN MAKE IT!!! No pressure to actually partake in the D&D... I seem to remember that you thougth Dane might not be in to that? but we've got video games and it's a kid-friendly environment as long as you realize that Nani's Freak might at any moment, y'know... "Freak". Kidlets seem to make him a bit tense... and of course there's a large amount of loud swearing from him on occasion... but it's all fun :)

That sounds doable. Saturdays can be a bit difficult for us, but monthly could definitely make that work. :)

I wish it wasn't a 14 hour drive to get there.... So how do you do a D&D kinda game in one night?

it's a lot easier with D&D 4th Edition than it has been in the past. I've run a bunch of 'em for folks so far while just learning the mechanics of the game. I figure that levels 1-3 are gonna be all about building "The Team" with simple "A kid is missing and his mother wants you to check out the old abandoned keep to see if he's there" type of things... then stuff they did while getting up to third level will come back to bite 'em when the BIG campaign starts :)

Websites are... hmmmm... I've never relied on them so much for my adventures. The new Dungeon masters Guide 2 (which either just hit stores or is about to hit stores) is FULL of little adventures though!

Magazines are usually a good place to find tiny adventures... "Knights Of The Dinner Table" used to always have a good adventure in each issue!

No movie invite because it's just me an mah old ladee :)

...but that's not to say that I won't have to see the movie some thirty times or so before it comes out on DVD!

BBQ Tofu... yeeeeeeeah, about that... our Home owner's Association kinda expressly forbids the use or consumption of any curdsploitive food products... I'm pretty sure i read that in there somewhere...

HOWEVER! I am not so much of a meat-snob that I won't grill anything and everything from Onions to Mushrooms to Peppers to Peaches! GAZILLIONS of non-tofu grill options!

i'd be interested in coming over, schedule permitting. i'll have to check if Sophia's game for these. i do have one game night at a friend's house on Saturdays already, every other week... so if i have Sophia, i'll try coming by yours and se ehow it goes. if i don't, i'll probably swing by yours in the afternoon and stay til the evening, then drive myself down to Factoria.

i cna also bring Carcassonne (with loads of expansiony goodness yet without the stupid), Catan (no major expansions though), Risk 2210, Agricola, or other games... i have a good 50+ board/card games here, not to mention the video game collection that makes geeks drool.

i'm not sure i'll have a car by the 14th though... :p
so i may or may not be able to make the first one...

I may be able to come. Amanda is probably gonna go out w/ her sister & I can skip my usual D&D game. So... I didn't immediately see the answer to this & I'm doing this on my G1, so I'm not gonna look... kid friendly? I'd likely have a 6 & 9 yr old in tow.

Also, d'you think anyone would like to play/test my strategy board game? The basic rules & deck are getting to be fairly well hammered out & I'd love more input. ^_^

Ack! Totally spaced on the fact that Julia's belated birthday party is earlier that day. My attendance will likely depend on whether the cousins stay after the party...

Kid-friendly of an environment as can be expected when Freak is concerned :) Also, there may be light boozing from the Canadian delegate. But Molly will be here (who is 3) and probably another little girl (who is 4) and *maybe* yet ANOTHER little girl who is older than that (can't remember... 9 or 10?)

Sure bring your game along... is it one that will consume all our time, or will we still be able to play other games?

I'll be making another post early Wednesday asking for folks to confirm/deny that they can make it... be sure to chime in there!

A typical game takes an hour or less. Usually less. If we don't make it this week, I'll make it a point to make the next one.
