Ohio Post 1: The Flight

Posting events of the trip in several mini-posts because I never ever read those long "Recap" posts that people make. Captain Slinky's Trip To Ohio will be served in Bite-Size portions :)

Departing at 11:45pm, we thought that Molly would sleep all the way there. And as long as you replace the word "Sleep" with "Stay Awake", then our plan was a complete success! Thank The Gawds that we had several hours of Power Puff Girls, Disney Films and Tom & Jerry cartoons to keep her semi-quiet for the other passengers.

We landed at the George Bush Innernashunul Airport-N-Bait-Shop in Houston at some ungodly hour for a one-hour lay over. We were so scarred... a couple of Northwest Liberal Hippies in an airport that has a FOX NEWS STORE! We dared not ask where a Starbucks was for fear that we would be discovered and lynched. Our connecting flight was over-booked so they started offering all the incentives in the world... we finally gave in at $1200 worth of travel certificates, free breakfast and an upgrade to First Class.

HOKEY SMOKES First Class is AWESOME! FREE BOOZE!!! FREE HEADPHONES!!! BIG COMFY SEATS!!! FOOD THAT DIDN'T TASTE TERRIBLE!!! I'd never pay for it, but man it was nice to have all the extras for free :)

First class is the love of my life. When I used to travel to legal cases, I always had to book my trips last minute and generally all that was left was first class. What I enjoyed most (aside from the relatively decent food) was the legroom. My feet never went to sleep in first class.
