Volunteering has it's benefits :)

This morning I took Molly in to the school's office with me so I could sign-in and get my Volunteer Badge for the Library early, because last week when I left the playground to go do that without her she kind of freaked out.
Molly was EXTREMELY impressed. When we went back out to the playground, she showed me off to ALL her little friends, bringing them too me one at a time and grabbing my badge saying "See that? That's my Daddy's BADGE. He works in THE LIBRARY."
We're just a week in to the school year and already I'm the super-cool Dad who plays tag with the kids and gives pushes on the swings and I *think* I may even have more authority with the kids than the actual Playground Monitor Adults... kids just randomly come up to me asking me to help them :)
Also, I've noticed another Nerd Dad who seems to want to talk to me but can't find a way to break the ice and just say "YOU R SO COOL I WANT 2 B UR FREND LOL"... he's an Ectomorphic Nerd, tall and skinny with glasses and whispy facial hair (as opposed to my Endomorphic Nerd stereotype, short and fat with big bushy facial hair), and I keep meaning to strik up a conversation about Doctor Who with him but I get caught up in playing with the kids... maybe tomorrow?
