I hate to dwell on negative things, but DUDE! 2011 SUCKS!!!

Just received notice that another married couple we know is getting a divorce... this time the husband made the announcement on Christmas Day (classy). This brings it up to a total of FOUR COUPLES we personally IRL know that have divorced in 2011! Add that to the 5 pets (including one of our own) who died this year, a dozen people losing their jobs, numerous deaths and of course my own Father's umpteen visits to the emergency room and his descent in to senility/dementia... 2011 will be the first year I've ever been happy to see come to an end.

Jill and I have been married for 17 years and are nowhere near divorce. We are happily married. It is getting rarer, but it does still happen.

Besides, after all this time we are too tired for all the hassle of a divorce. It's just easier to stay together. :-p

I lost a grandma, got fired, found a new job, had a flood in my dining room from a burst pipe in the townhome next door, got broadsided by an SUV, and lost my new job because I couldn't return to it due to injuries from the accident in 2011. Of the small handful of people I'm still friends with from high school one lost her mom and her grandma this year, another lost her dad and one lost her husband - widowed at 34. Damn. And Tuesday another close friend lost her dad. So yeah, 2011 can kiss my ass - good bye and good riddance!!
