Took me THREE HOURS to get in and out of The Food Bank tonight. I had been avoiding the place for the past month-and-a-half due in part to all sorts of wacky goings-on in our lives but also because I know they get a heavier load at The Holidays than usual. But this week we just didn't have any food left. I have *parts* of food, but nothing to make a complete meal with.
Ended up having to go shopping afterwards, anywho. Spent $50, but I am now positive that we can eat for the next 3 months without having to go shopping or to the food bank again. After that, I'll have to re-evaluate the situation... but it'll almost be MARCH by then! SPRINGTIME!!! Time for FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES!!!
Right?

Date: 2008-12-12 10:09 pm (UTC)Would you like some more apples? I still have some left from that batch I picked in fall, and they're... oddly... not rotten. A little wrinkly, so you'd want to make cobbler/pie/crisp or something, but still edible.
